For the last few months I've been doing several topical series, but deep down I always really just want to go through the Bible line-by-line. Years ago while talking with our staff we were trying to diagnose problems people were having in their lives and the conversation finally distilled to one significant fact: We all need more Scripture. That was a major turning point for me as a preacher. I like topical sermon series and think they are a necessary part of what we do as a church, but ultimately, how do I get better spiritual nutrients to hungry believers than going line by line through the scriptures. So on February 6th I will finally be able to launch the series I'm most excited about this year: Ephesians-Encountering the Mysteries of God. It's both basic and intensely profound. It's relevant to people evaluating the claims of faith and to those looking to sink their decade old roots of faith deeper into Christ. The megathemes of the book might prompt more passion than I know what to do with! In Short, I think it's the foundation to grow us all to the next level . The content to allow the Holy Spirit to do what he wants both IN and THROUGH us.
