Study and Teach vs. Teach to Study

I came Across this today from Mark Batterson, one of the only 2 blogs I read consistently. I think he's right...and it makes me wonder about how I need to make changes at Evergreen. I think we're going to see more church wide reading coming....

Holy Underware, Hapax legomenon and other goodies

Hey All, Sorry I've completely fallen off the blogosphere of late. I thought I would throw this out as a return for me. Sunday I was trying to remember a term at the last minute and I just couldn't do it. The term was Hapax legomenon and a short synopsis on them can be found HERE. It's interesting stuff because as Christians we try to never build core doctrine on words or concepts that are only found once in Scripture. Otherwise you end up doing this which leads you to wearing this>>>>

Working with the Forkers

As many of you know, Steph and I have been given the opportunity to spend a month in Verona Italy Sept 22-Oct 21 of this year. Many people have been asking many questions about what it's like, what we will do etc...and we really have very few answers. This video by the Forkers though should answer some of those. Thank you to everyone who has made this trip possible for us by volunteering at Evergreen and paying our way. We expect to come back refreshed and like couple of shiny new pastors.

Good Times at the new diggs :)

So for those of you who haven't heard, ECSP is on the move again and we've spent the last couple days trying to get setup in our new office. The former Mike Plonkster Bookstore has become our weekly (not weekend) home for office space, storage, and small groups. The current color scheme is abysmal, so I'm only posting a photo of the outside. But if you have nothing to do this week, feel free to swing by...we could use the help! :) Also..isn't that the cutest little girl standing at the door, of course I MIGHT be biased :)
